Plastic fences have gone up to protect the trees recently planted on the slope beside the south end of the off-leash dog area (see posting below).
The city has also put up signs saying that tobogganing and snowboarding are not allowed on this slope. Although there are better runs nearby, this is a popular alternative tobogganing run in the winter. Unfortunately, it crosses the main trail at the bottom, with the danger of accidents involving pedestrians. It remains to be seen how successful the city will be in stopping tobogganing on this slope.
